Ford initiative aims to maximise volunteer efforts

Lawson says MODEL Teams is the logical next-step in the evolution of the Ford Volunteer Corps. The Volunteer Corps was created in 2005 by Ford Executive Chairman Bill Ford when he saw the need for Ford volunteers to respond to the tsunami and then two state-side hurricanes. The Ford Volunteer Corps was a way to pull all of those efforts together. An example of how the Ford Volunteer Corps has grown could be seen last fall during an event called the Global Week of Caring.

But Ford is also hoping to catch a sizable share of the U.S. market for subcompact vehicles to make up for a downturn in sales of sport utility vehicles and large sedans. Ford said U.S. monthly sales dropped 7 percent in February as consumers abandoned heavier vehicles in the face of rising gas prices, prompting it to cut shifts and announce layoffs.

Anyone who believes Jerry Abramson can and will make a difference in this situation is living in a dream world. Duirng the Mayorla election in 2006 I spoke about the seriousness of Ford closing and the effetcs of many other non Ford workers in our community that will lose jobs because of it. Ford announced it’s Way Forward plan in January 2006 and this Mayor did not see it necessary to speak with them at that time.

Hooker Ford sees line-out as key battleground to beating England

While the Scots struggled along the touchline in their opening match of the RBS Six Nations tournament against France in Edinburgh parity was achieved next time out in Wales. More recently the Scots had a distinct edge in that area over Ireland in Dublin and that is one positive Ford insists can be taken forward. “Sometimes our line-out has worked well and on other occasions there have been a few simple errors.

Ford Focus Retail Sales Up 36 Percent in February, Punctuating Solid Month for Cars, Crossovers

Buyers age 16-35 account for 32 percent of retail sales for the 2008 Focus, compared with 28 percent for the previous model. Focus is one of 12 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models equipped with SYNC, an affordable, in-car connectivity technology that fully integrates most Bluetooth-enabled cell phones and MP3 players by voice activation.

Mexico leg two hits Ford hard

Fastest time on the opening two tests carried S bastien Loeb (Citroen) into the lead. He won another three stages this afternoon to finish 61.4sec ahead of Chris Atkinson (Subaru). The Australian s only concern was a problem with the car s launch control system. Behind Latvala, Munchi s driver Henning Solberg (Ford) capitalised on Hirvonen s punctures to move into fourth, despite brake trouble on the opening test.

), and Ford Motors all reported a decline in overall U.S. sales for February with GM reporting the largest year-over-year loss of 13%. While Ford and Toyota reported overall declines of 6.9% and 6.6% respectively. GM saw growth in its fuel-efficient sector with its Chevrolet Cobalt total sales up 56.1% to 16,958, Pontiac G6 up 50.3% to 16,901 and Buick LaCrosse up 11.9% to 3,979 compared with February 2007. Ford’s fuel-efficient vehicles also did relatively well.

Navistar Refiles Lawsuit Against Ford Motor Company

Ford is planning to produce a 4.4-liter diesel engine for North America vehicles some time in late 2009 or early 2010. If Ford produces this engine for the F-150, according to Navistar, it’s a violation of the contract. The lawsuit filed on February 26 states “‘¦Navistar spent millions of dollars and devoted years of its employees’ time to develop a next-generation diesel engine named “Lion” for use in F-150 pickup trucks and other vehicles in which Ford had not previously offered diesel engines.

Germany : Ford of Europe started production of the all-new Ford Kuga, the company’s first entry into the growing crossover segment on 26 Feb 2008 at the Ford plant in Saarlouis, Germany. The two variants Zetec and the Titanium will go on sale in June 2008 with the entry level pricing for the Zetec starting from Ј20,495 and Ј22,495 for the Titanium.
