$60 million in tax breaks OK’d for Ford truck plant
“Hopefully it will be enough to maintain the jobs here,” Aubrey L. Hayden, the authority’s vice president, said before the board unanimously approved the package. “There are so few high-paying manufacturing jobs left.” Ford would have to give back some of the tax breaks if employment at Kentucky Truck falls below 3,511 by 2012. But if Ford invests $100 million more in either plant — for a total investment of $300 million — that penalty would be dropped.
