Crossover Vehicles Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX Lead Ford’s Strong Month of July

Ford Motor Company has announced that they had a strong month of October led by their Crossover SUV vehicles. During the month of October in 2007, Ford Motor Company announced their divisions of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury had a combined sales volume of 36,852 crossover SUV vehicles sold during the month. The company was led by the sales of two vehicles in particular.

These were the Ford Edge and the Lincoln MKX during the month of October in 2007. This information was released in a recent press release from Ford Motor Company. According to the press release the Ford Edge has had a very strong six month period of sales as it has been the top-selling mid-size crossover vehicle in the U.S. for the past six months. October was no different as 14,133 vehicles were sold helping Ford Motor Company to their strong October performance.

The Lincoln MKX also had strong sales for the month with 3,787 units sold in October of 2007. Both the Ford Escape and the Mercury Mariner crossover vehicles had sales volumes in October of 2007 that were higher than October of 2006. The Ford Escape recorded in increased in sales volume by a 27 percent mark and the Mercury Mariner sales volume was up 19 percent.

For the year the crossover vehicles for Ford Motor Company are up in sales volume by 59 percent when compared with the same time frame one year ago. This is the largest increase of any major manufacturer according to the press release. For October, Ford Motor Company saw their crossover vehicles sales increase 145 percent compared with October in 2006.
